The Shrine of Venus Cloacina (Sacrum Cloacina) in the Forum Romanum was a small shrine for Cloacina, the patron deity of the Cloaca Maxima. The shrine marks the entrance of the sewer, that drains the area of the Forum, into the Forum. Cloacina was later identified with Venus. The shrine is located in front of the Basilica Aemilia, on the Via Sacra.
The open-air shrine consisted of circular marble wall with a diameter of 2.4m, and within this enclosure cult statues of Cloacina and Venus stood on low bases.
Only the foundation of the circular enclosing wall remains to this day.
