Minerva was originally an Etruscan deity but was imported to Rome very early. She is the goddess of crafts and trade guilds, but because she was also identified with the Greek goddess Athena, she also took on some warlike aspects.

Minerva was one of the Capitoline Triad.

Temples to Minerva were found on the Aventine Hill and in Nerva’s Forum in Rome.

Minerva Medica was the protector of doctors.
